Should I try Celexa again?

I've been on Celexa since 2009. Depression started to effect me at work. Would feel like crying for no reason at all and couldn't control it. My dr and I thought it had to do with my age and changes my body was going thru. I realized I had mild depression for long time before that. The Celexa was great for me. I was happier overall. Over time had to increase up to max dose of 40 mg, then my dr added wellbutrin. Now I've tapered off both back to nothing for last 2 wks to prepare to try something new. I wanted to see what it was like to be off. The depression is back and is worse than I remember back in 2009... Its effecting my work more. I'm having crying episodes, can't concentrate on anything and sometimes just feel like im in a trance just numb... I have a virtual appt with my dr this afternoon and will ask her to get me on another SSRI. What I wonder is... Can I try to start over again with Celexa and expect it to work again? I can't find any information about this. I read that after a long period the receptors in the brain may become less sensitive to the medication. If so, if you stay off for a while, will the receptors work back to their original state???

Hello,

I'm certain that your Dr. could answer that question. I have been on 40mg celexa (Anxiety / Panic) for about 5 yrs now, and wellbutrin (energy) 300mg 2 months. Vyvanse has helped me to feel better and be more productive and not as sad and defeated 4-6 hours. God Bless!
