Is it wrong that I don't feel like helping my sister with her mental issues?

I have 2 sisters (they are both older than me), Rachel and Laura. Rachel and I are close and tell each other basically everything. But with Laura, however, I am not as close. How me and Rachel are so close is because we always help each other through bad mental spots. Laura seems to be oblivious to this most of the time. She never showed major signs of mental illness in her life. She may have been anxious over some certain situations or had the occasional bout of insomnia but nothing chronic. Now, she is having panic attacks and claims to be depressed. She went to the doctor's recently, speaking some help and our doctor said to make lifestyle changes first and, if my sister wanted to, she could go on medication right then and there. I laughed when I heard that. I had a falling out with my family when I said I wanted to go to therapy. My parents refused to get me help. But when Laura first initially said she wanted to get medication, my parents said, “It's about time.” I broke down. I couldn't believe what I heard. And right now, as I am typing this, she is crying downstairs about something and I don't want to help her. I realized a while ago that I don't love her as much as I used to, for many reasons. Part of me says that I am obligated to help because I don't want anyone to go through what I did, but then the other part says that I in no way obligated to help. My therapist keeps trying to tell me that I need to focus on myself for once, but I always feel so selfish. I am so scared of being a bad person that it is destroying me. Should I still help her?

Your parents are helping her and doctor and that is what she needs. But don’t let her mental state ruin your state. You can relax she is taken care of

Thank you for the reassurance :)

Personally I would suggest you help yourself first before trying to help other people. When you feel better in yourself you can possibly help Her then

The reasons why She is depressed it could be down to something that would upset you, or because you are younger than her it may be She would not want to discuss the problems she has

No you are not being selfish, you need your energy for your own healing.
