Hi i got real low a month a go and doc put me on sertraline, i have never been as depressed as i was as i was on sertraline, my head was going crazy over thinking really pointless stuff. Now i have been on mirtza for 2 weeks, and all the overthinking has stopped which is a great relief and sleeping has improved. But i feel numb and have read lots everyone does on mirtaz. I dont know whether to just stop altogether the anti depressants, because i dont want to feel numb, or should i continue with mirtaz and let it level out....is that a thing?

I’ve been on mirtazapine for about 2 months now. I would definitely suggest waiting it out. It takes 4-6 weeks to reach full effect. Every antidepressant can also cause some of the symptoms that you’re trying to treat in the beginning until your body adjusts.

I’d try to give it at least 2 more weeks and see how you feel. Stay in contact with your doctor as well.

Give the second medication time to work, five weeks is about right when you should start getting some results. It is no good changing medications every two weeks it just makes matters worse so keep taking your medications, Be patient.
