Mental illness in couple relationships

I suffer from depression, anxiety and OCD. My past relationship ended because my partner could not understand that people cannot always control their depression, and that depression is hard 😢

And for 2 months I thought how difficult it is to find a person who will accept me with all my problems and will not be so dismissive of my mental health.

After 2 months, I met a new guy, we just started dating. And recently it turned out that he also suffers from depression and anxiety, and takes medications.

We talked about that. And all I understand now is how good it is when you can share your feelings with someone who understands you perfectly. But I am afraid that there may be problems in such relationships 🤔

I am afraid that it can be difficult when you and your partner are both depressed. Does the state of one partner affect another? Or how to help another when you yourself cannot get out of this? Or can it generally affect your relationship?

I would be grateful if you share your experience, who faced this situation. I'm a little confused 😬

If you both suffer Depression it is good you can relate to each other, you will form a bubble of understanding and as you talk and be more confident in each other.

If you have not already, consider talking to your Doctor, regards Depression, hopefully He will arrange a course of CBT and medication for initially short to medium term. CBT, Talking Therapy may also come to terms with your low mood, Courses normally last for about ten sessions and hopefully with that time it will help you move on and address your concerns.

I wish you well, enjoy your new friendship and relationship

I'm already in CBT. So I hope everything will be fine.

Thank you! 🙏🏼
