Mental Health sufferers need not continue on in silence
Agreed, it is so important to break one's own silence (it is actually called mourning - giving voice to our grief).
I kept silent for years and subsequently developed autoimmune illness and compromised brain function. It has taken years of prayer and counselling to get to where I am today and it has been worth the effort and the struggle,
Still there are areas where I am not as confident as I would like to be but I am trying to take an inventory of the things my journey has taught me instead of getting stuck on the circumstances or people that I cannot change.
The best advice I was ever given was to allow myself to marinate in the good experiences Life gives me because that enables my brain to be healthy in both structure and function.
Whilst I do agree with you I think you need to pick the situations where you would get support. I wouldn't tell all and sundry coz most will not understand or care.
I would also be clear what you want from the other person ie whether you want support or allowances to be made for you. if the latter I wouldn't count on too much of that! x
I agree i haven't been to church in 4 weeks ny friend hasn't txxted me once
Well said
