Seizure

Has anybody suffered with a seizure. Been on Citalopram for about 8 weeks and collapsed with a seizure. Take eye drops for glaucoma but the specialist said it was ok. I had a one off seizure 16 months ago and nothing since until I started the medication.

If you had a seizure before you started on citalopram it seems logical something else is causing it . I would do some Googling to see if this is a side effect of this drug. Make sure the research isn't done by the maker of the drug. Negative research is often buried within a report and you have to do some serious digging.Pam

I think any seizure, regardless of potential causes, warrants a trip to the doctor. Hope you're ok and get it sorted x

Hi Lisajane62, and welcome to this caring forum. As Suzie40 has posted, please make an appointment to see your GP to investigate the reason for these seizures. Do stay on the forum where you will receive advice and support from other members. Thank you and best wishes.

I have seen GP and have an appointment with a neurologist this week. I was in Guys hospital in London for a couple of days CT scan clear and heart scan which showed prolonged QTs. Have got to wear a heart monitor for a day. Thank you for your replies.
