I have lost faith in the N H S mental health team

For about 6 to 8 weeks now kept calling the team not response on a call back must have had most of the police force in my house on good Friday staying there till paramedics arrived as the mental health team hasn’t bothered to call or even come round to help my wife has she suffers from bipolar the poor girl is full of gilt after threatening and plus damaged a tv in the front and it’s a big tv has well , had social services involved as well and they not happy with the team

That's awful - where do you live? I'm in South Wales and there's someone at the end of the phone pretty much all of the time here. I hope she is ok and gets the help she needs x

We live in Hampshire the mount of times I’ve called the receptionist answered the phone and supposedly leave a message and her nurse hasn’t bothered to return the call or that she hasn’t received them the police are keeping in touch to make sure everything is ok plus we had social services getting involved the the 2 teams are horrified at mental health team not doing there job she used to be a lot brighter in the past what don’t help she also got type 2 diabetic

Sorry to see youve been let down so much by the mental health team ! Ive got to say that my dealings with the mental health team have been positive ! Have you tried registering a complaint with your local nhs board the only.thing that may have had a bearing on the help you were not given is that mental health services have seen there budgets cut with a ever increasing caseload thats not excusing the lack of help you needed i wish you all the best take care !

Sorry to hear you have been so let down. I think it varies very much from area to area. In my area (West Midlands) they are so shortstaffed it is unbelievable and the staff keep getting moved about all the time so you never get any consistency. I really feel for you. It is so difficult in these circumstances. I hope you are getting things sorted now. XXXx

Well I'd like to tell you my experience but everytime I see my doctor he offers me pill and tells me to do a self referral application to a counselling service. Which I have done and never heard anything back for months. I don't know what to do. It's like they dont care and want me out of the surgery as soon as possible!
