I have been on 50mg of sertraline for about 8 weeks now. First 3 - 4 weeks were hellish then everything settled down but now Im cold have chills, cold sweats or I'm boiling its like I have a fever when I don't. Is this the sertraline?? Has anybody else experienced this??

I'm on 50mg of sertraline myself hun and when I first started on them i was getting headaches and they were making me tired.

I go hot and cold sometimes myself hun, but I don't think its the sertraline as I go hot andcold whether I take mine or not as I get hot or cold really easy.

Hi Heatherd,

You may find this information helpful from the UK based charity MIND which has follow-on links to more detailed information on drug effects, coping with side effects etc. mind.org.uk/information-sup...

Do stay safe and don't stop taking these types of medications suddenly, but always be monitored and guided by your doctor.

Hope this helps.

Honestly... Dont take my advice as a goto.. But i was on this medication for almost a year.. 50mg aswell.. And my body would go in waves of feeling okay to just feeling off... Some of the most odd side effects was when i was on that drug. When i got off i felt like me again. I hope the best i hear all differnt sorties, not all are bad theres alot of people out there that swear by this medication. I hope all the best.

Can’t say I have and I am on 200mg the only side affects I had was not been able to sleep correctly and only having odd amounts of sleep such as 5 hours if I was lucky and be awake at 430am every morning and wouldn’t be able to get much sleep until past 1am on a good day I am not 100% sure but I did come off it last year to switch medication and the pain that I was in would stop but as I am back on them I find the pain is back but I did have pains through out my childhood due to a road traffic accident as the doctor says it’s nerve damage

That's really interesting to hear about the trouble sleeping. I've been on sertraline for far too many years and I have always found it difficult to stay asleep.
