Christmas and mental health top tips

Hi folks,

Here are some links to UK mental health charities and their top tips for looking after yourself and loved one over the festive period. Christmas can be a wonderful time of celebrating with family and friends giving and sharing love and friendship. But it can also be a very challenging time and make managing our mental health more difficult. Try to pace your activities, reassess your priorities, make some compromises and lower your expectations a little. Try to plan in some 'time-out' away from the hustle and bustle to rest and relax. Practicing mindfulness may help you re-focus on the present moment and give your mind a chance to rest.

Hi, I’m feeling rather overwhelmed by Christmas this year. the tip about building in time for one self is probably the best tip. Christmas is all about giving, but don’t give so much that you have nothing left for yourself. It’s ok to give a little time to yourself. If you look after yourself, then the rest is much easier.

My mum is so stressed she said Christmas is cancelled this year. And she's looking after a 4 year old! No tree yet, no decorations, no planning of gifts almost and it's a bit of a shame.

Maybe u could help by putting decorations and tree up yourself. I'm not bothering this year. Christmas will be over soon😄😟
