Is it schizophrenia?
Schizophrenia needs a psychiatrist to properly diagnose. It's a chronic mental condition that can be managed well with meds and therapy.
There are lots of symptoms which also apply to other mental conditions or illness. So don't panic.
Have you spoken to doctor? Are you on any meds? What's your symptoms?
Endless depression. No social life don't want to go anywhere. Feeling anxious and nervous and keep to myself.
Ok that sounds like depression and anxiety. How old r u? I'd make doctors appmt. Get blood test to rule out other causes of depression such as vitamin deficiency etc. Ask doc for help, he may be able to give therapy, counseling and or meds. Depression is a treatable illness but get help now. The longer untreated the longer for recovery it seems to me.
Post again once you've spoken to doctor as we can give more advice on medication etc and other useful tools to use.
I am 54 years old been through all this since a child. Been diagnosed major depression disorder been on several antidepressants. Transmagnetic stimulation was the next step insurance won't cover it.
I don't shower I don't clean up nothing I have never felt like this my entire life. I have always been a hard worker and kept my things nice. Now I don't care!
I have a relative who is a schizophrenic . Trauma as a child or adult doesn't cause it. It most definitely is in the genes -heredity plays a major factor. Men who suffer from this acquire it in their early 20's. Women in their early 30's. There is no cure, but you're probably suffering from depression where medication will help.
Thanks seeing a doctor soon. Have dealt with depression most of my life. Lately just feels unbearable.
Hi patticake9, Please make an appointment to see your doctor as he/she will be able to help you. DMM218 has made some really good suggestions such as a blood test to rule out if you have any deficiencies which could cause depression. Try to keep posting on the forum to talk to others who understand. It may help you to write down how you are feeling. Let us know how you are getting on. Best wishes.
Hi Patticake9,
You have lots of good advice here. I want to add my support for your visit to the doctor.
One extra thing I can suggest is that you actually print off the information we have provided and highlight the important parts that you need to talk about with your doctor as a memory aid. Feeling sometimes get in the way of a good talk.
