Can someone please tell me how to live "now". How to enjoy things and how to control myself to not overthink?

Living is sometimes not a choice, it can be taken anytime. remember that. Your here for a reason. The reasons you live are up to you. More background would help figure out what madness you face.

Our lives are supposed to become a learning experience, you make decisions on how you wish to live.

What interests you, do you enjoy studying for a certain subject or what sorts of hobbies to you do, what. Will you have a need to travel or become a Doctor, the list goes on and on and your sky is the limit

Life it full of wonder, anticipation and new interests, the choice is yours. ENJOY

Oh boy, I have been there alot. I always do the doom and gloom what if scenarios, which was great for my job and career but has not helped me with my health issues in the past few years.

I found it hard to focus on present and not the past or the what ifs of the future.

The things that helped me was to learn relaxation and meditation techniques. Learning to allow thoughts to just follow through my head when I was meditating was a great help. I also learned a technique called mindfulness which was better for me to do, because my mind was so busy I had problems with negative voices all the time. So to start with I would go for a walk. I would go and sit in a local park and just for 5 minutes sit on a seat in the park and watch the trees. I would just concentrate on the trees, the colour of the leaves, the height of the tree, listening to the sound of the wind as well. Before I knew it I was getting out and about and I had learned what it felt like not to be doing the "what ifs" or going over past events.

I also started keeping a diary and in that I record what I am grateful for that day. I try not to get a negative in my diary, but some days that is tough. I soon learned that the best thing to do was to realize that you are only human and that sometimes things are tough. I use the mantra "Don't be so hard on yourself" to remind myself to give myself a break and that it is okay to make mistakes and not be perfect at everything.

Also why not keep a notebook to hand so that if you are finding that you are over thinking because you are afraid you will forget something you can take quick notes, especially at night when you are trying to sleep and then you can go back to the notes and deal with that stuff at a better time.

I am not sure if this these are things you are looking for but I hope these ideas help.

Take care.
