tomorrow's weather

Well I am due to walk 7 miles tomorrow in Capel Curig, North Wales and the weather forecast is severe with heavy winds and torrential rain. Help! I struggle in decent weather. I've had a look at the area and it's VERY hilly, the nearest walk to where we start from takes 3 hours to walk 3 miles - what am I letting myself in for...?

Hi Sue, I heard forcastes of Hurricains for this weekend, but today has been fine? before that I saw forcastes for the hotest August in years, and don't think that is happening either.

Best wait for the morning before panic and way up the situation then?

I have just been sitting in a lovely sunny conservatory doing some Paul Gilbert visulisations, so if all else fails tomorrow, put on the hiking boots close your eyes walking round the sitting room visulising those lovely landscapes (LOL) :-)

we will all pray for the sunshine though xxx

Yes, I'm not panicking, just wondering how I will cope as I am very new to walking, very unfit and getting on a bit - oh well, no doubt I will manage.

NO - I definitely am going!! I have decided to go EVERY week unless I am half dead as it's all too easy to opt out for some reason or other, then find another reason the following week, etc.

Think of me slipping and sliding on my bottom in the mud :) What a thought!

i plan to stay in and catch up on reading, do be careful, opt out of the cliff edge routes, unless equipped with a parachute... Actually it sounds quite exhilarating... "have a blast"----

I'll try not to slide into one of the lakes or fall down a sink hole

There is a severe weather forecast for tomorrow and the police are also giving advice. Please take care

Yes, I know - have a look at my post at the top - it does sound drastic - but then today's forecast was for rain and we have had sun all day! :) What's it like where you are?

Sunny but very windy up here in Fife. We have rain and flood warnings for tomorrow. Is it still summer?!

Sue,

This made me smile. I know I shouldn't and it isn't because you'll struggle but it's meant to be tail end of hurricane Bertha. Take care of yourself.

Hi Sue , I've just come back from a walk and it was pretty stormy. I hope you are ok and managed the walk ok and weather was not too extreme there. Gemma X
