Today I swore that I would not drink alcohol to feel better but that didn't last long. I feel like a total failure. Hoping things will be better tomorrow..

Hello again, I'm just wondering how you're feeling today ... no pressure ... we're not here to judge you at all, just here to support you if we can

I hope you have better days & keep in touch here, I'm rooting for you and know that I am thinking of you

Alcoholics Anonymous are a wonderful network of people in the same boat, they would definitely be worth a call ..

I grew up with an alcoholic father so I know how it can destroy lives

A day at a time and small steps when you feel like it

Best wishes

I think you are on the right lines by coming onto here and talking about how you are doing. I can personally recommend contacting Alcoholics Anonymous for your situation, they are far more than the name suggests, so dont be put off. They can give you a great amount of support without pressure. We are all here to support you too. Take care. X

Hi

Welcome to the site, we will support you all we can.

I am sorry you are feeling bad enough to turn to drink for comfort - it does comfort though in the long term it also makes things a lot worse and solves nothing - but you know that already!

When you are ready are you able to say more about what is making you feel so low? We have all experienced depression and are a caring and friendly bunch of people with whom you can share your feelings.

Hi,

Can totally empathise with you there. When I do something similar I try to think that moments of weakness are what make us all human, and not a reflection of one's own personal rate of success or failure. I know that's so easy to say or write on a forum, but I find the more you tell yourself the easier it gets to accept. Most of the time... :)

Hope I helped!

Best wishes.

I feel the same way each and every day.

Weird as it may sound, its comforting to know that there is someone out there going through similar issues as me. I have Fibro, the pain is constant and annoying.

Puts me in a depressed state and end up drinking loads of alcohol after work, every night.

In my mind, its something to look forward to at times when I can barely imagine what one more hour is going to be like. Hope you can feel better soon.... So do I.
