I even went on the stairmaster afterwards.

So pleased with myself for it.

Went out to the pub for dinner today, everyone had burgers and chips and nice things and i had...soup and a salad. Didnt even enjoy it...poo.

Oh the sacrifices we make!!!! You are doing so well with your running and exercise you should be very proud of yourself. I just walk in the morning, ( too old to run), but I go every morning and find I feel so much better for it. Big pat on the back for you, Lush. Keep up the great work, Love Julie xx

Glad to hear that you managed the run - told you you would!

I've never run in a gym - not sure I'd enjoy it as part of running for me is seeing the countryside and hearing all the sounds there. Do occasionally run through bits of town but even there there are trees and birds and cats and things ... though I guess that the running machines are specially sprung so it is probably a lot less strain on joints etc, not that I particularly strain my joints when running. My boyfriend has hip and back problems that go back to days when he was running lots of marathons - and had to give up because he was told it was that or become a cripple - but he would have run hard, unlike my gentle jogs - though I do enjoy the occasional short sprint ... but haven't really been able to manage that since I broke the ankle - not got the range of movement that it really needs ... which is a good excuse for sticking to the gentle jog :)

I know i cant believe it! :D

oh yes if i could run in the countryside id be so happy ....but alas, i live near a main road :( there is a park near me which i like to go in but not comfortable being on my own...u just never know.

Yes i think it was good, i have knee pains when running some times. i did get a sore knee on the treadmill though but i bet they would be worse on the road.

oh my ive not managed anything near a sprint...i do a job otherwise i get a stich :(

we shall just stick to our jogging eh :)

Good going! I went back to running this morning after a few months off...I prefer to run in the gym cause can regulate speed on the treadmills. Plus the ones at my gym have ipod docks and TV on them :)

Tried to go 3k at 7.5kph...I got to 10 minutes and cracked, had to rest for a minute. Managed 3k but not continuously. Fortunately I have last night's boxfit/yoga group class marathon to conveniently blame rather than my own lack of discipline.

5k will be good. The feeling when you finish a distance road race the first time is amazing, I'm kind of envious! Enjoy it and feel good about yrself cause it's a great thing to do.

Saw yr message that you'd ordered those books btw - hope they are as helpful to you as they were to me.

And burritos are never, EVER a bad thing ;)

Thanks hun! :D yeah I like the fact I can regulate my speed on a treadmill too...maybe that's why I did so well. Yeah I did 7.2 which I was scared was too slow but if you went 7.5 that makes me feel better! Just build it up again...thats all ive done :)

my ex is still in contact with me...he wont leave me alone!

Agreed...mexican food is the best. I love spicy food :D x
