Hello I’m 16 turning 17 and I can’t pull my foreskin down like at all I can only see the tip of my penis is this normal??
It's not an uncommon condition, but for a normal healthy foreskin you should be able to retract it so you can clean the glans and the ridge below the glans. You should ask your GP to take a look. I appreciate that at your age you may feel very embarrassed to do this but every GP will be sympathetic and have seen the problem many times before. They will be in the best position to advise you. It's possible that you have phimosis, but I'd hesitate to accept an Internet diagnosis as it could be wrong.
If you can go straight to a urologist, go to see that doctor. If you have to get a referral from a GP then sure go for it.
While not ideal, it’s not uncommon at 16, and it could resolve on its own. I suggest that you help development along by applying tension to the opening. If it won’t allow insertion of two fingers at once, grasp the lips of the foreskin on both sides and pull apart. Do this for five minutes, four times per day, every day. This method is highly successful and non-invasive and free of pain or recovery time.
As soon as two fingers can be inserted, use them to apply the tension.
Skin expansion by application of tension is a common procedure used for burn victims and masectomy patients. All doctors are familiar with it. Avoid advice to get circumcised.
I’d recommend going to the doctor and you’ll probably have to be circumcised coz it sounds like the same situation I was in only 2 months ago and I’m 17 too.
Told my dad that something was wrong with my foreskin after waiting for ages coz I was too embarrassed, we went to the doctor, was circumcised within 2 months, healed up nicely, I’m back masturbating and everything’s normal and so much better than it was!
Not unusual at your age, my advice is to try stretching and see how you get on. Leave circumcision as a last resort. If it causing you pain do not be afraid to see Doc, they seen it all before.
Good luck
