hi guys I was circumcised 7 days ago and a few days ago I noticed two of my stitches burst in my sleep went to my local hospital then they checked and said I had an infection despite having no pain or bleeding just a lot of yellow discharge coming from the area of my penis near my frenulum they said they can’t do a lot about the skin where the stitches burst and I just have some skin on the side of my penis just kind of sticking out for now. My question is will the doctor restitch the small side on my penis where my stitches burst or leave it to heal and how long did it take for this yellow discharge to go away even in the shower it still comes back after. (Side note I am taking a 7 day course of antibiotics anyway just to make sure I don’t have an infection)

Circumcision day 7 advice

Hi , your doctor / surgeon will be best to guide you . From my experience I had something similar . Suddenly after 7 days there was bleeding towards the right side lower skin and blood in my underpants. I freaked and saw the doc and was advised Neosporin powder along with a course of antibiotics for 7 days just as a precaution to rule out infection. My existing stiches hadnt burst but there was this one spot which bled,. Doc advised that he can give me a single stich but we should wait to see if this heals on its own. Fortunately this worked for me and no additional stiches were required. I had a slight discharge but was advised saline wash to keep the area clean which i did regularly. Discharge stopped after 15 days but I kept up with the saline wash for well over 2 months along with neosporin powder.
This is just my experience , but always check with your Doctor incase you are concerned. Im now almost 7 months healed and getting better
Hi, Try not to worry my stiches also opened 4-5 days after my circumcision in bed during the night and I had yellow discharge near the frenulum area. I was told it was infected but had no symptoms of pain or bleeding. I was also given 7 days of Antibiotics which eventually cleared the infection but it took about 2 weeks for the yellow discharge to fully stop. I was not advised to have more stiches and was told by the GP registrar it will heal itself. Just keep the area clean and dry and try use salt water in a cup when you wash.
Hi there, wishing you well and hoping you're okay in yourself. It didn't happen to me, but I read a lot of experiences where stitches burst and most healed up fine without further stitches required. I did experience bleeding around the frenulum for the first couple of weeks from night erections stretching my wound open, and it was scary but I was told it could happen and not to worry. I was also given a course of antibiotics. It's a waiting game, and I am grateful there were people on this forum telling me to stay calm and just let it heal and air. You got this, we're all here.
