hello, i know it’s early in my healing process but im going on to day 2 when i can start my cleaning process now and i was just wondering what i should do on a daily basis to help reduce the swelling and everything to make it easier for myself, as a type 1 diabetic myself i just want to get it sorted as soon as i can whilst being patient, any tips on what to put in the bath to soak with or anything would be massively appreciated!

I fund out that things depend very much on where you do it. Right after the surgery I was given a painkiller pill and invited to leave the clinic right away. I went home by train on my own :-D

Hi man. I was sent home without any bandage/dressing, but on day three I had a shower. No soap and didn't touch my penis. I put my own dressings on overnight and would remove them by soaking in the shower. From then on I bathed it daily by dipping in a glass of salt water. Salt helps prevent infection and promotes healing. I let it soak in the glass for a good 5 minutes. Then don't rinse salt off, so it keeps working. I am type 2 diabetic, so it was important I didn't get an infection which would have been slow to resolve. Good luck!

hello mate, few days after and i’ve just been soaking day and night in baths and showers, i’m going to start using salt in the water tomorrow to help prevent any infections. when you say don’t rinse the salt off do you mean dry it lightly or not at all? was also wondering as i still have the stitching if i should retract the skin at all or will this damage them? thanks

I let mine air dry. No rubbing. Also avoid touching pulling it in the first few days/week

I poured warm salty water over my penis in a sink for two weeks every morning and nighttime and always after urinating. I also dried it very carefully with a soft cotton cloth and it healed up perfectly. Took 6 months for the sensitivity to be manageable though. Some people seem to get over this quicker thank others. I had my foreskin for 62 years so that may have a bearing on it. I hope you make a speedy recovery.

I was told no baths, but I don't remember other restrictions. I had a bandage until the bleeding stopped. I am Type 2 diabetic, and I did have 4 bouts of infection over 8 months following surgery. Not pleasant.
