I had a partial circumcision done 20 days ago. From the moment I woke up in recovery after the surgery to now I have some "extreme" swelling in my frenulum, it protrudes out further than the head of my penis and is close to the size of it as well. (it is basically like another head below mine competing for space under what is left of my foreskin). At the time the nurses assured me that everything looks as it is supposed to and I have been to the GP since who tells me that he thinks it should go down in time but can't tell me exactly what is going on until he receives the notes from the surgeon. I just want to reach out to any others who have had the procedure done to see if this really is normal. I am very concerned, part of me hopes that the swelling is there because there are still some undissolved stitches and it will soon show some sign of reducing. How long should I wait for the swelling to go away before it is an issue and I contact the surgeon myself? I have been given no information on what to expect for the recovery process thus far.

Frenulum Swelling Partial Circumcision
No one has experienced this? Now I have even more anxiety than ever
Hi, I was circumcised back in December on the NHS and I had a similar thing. The underside of my penis was extremely swollen, it was also squidgy as if there was liquid. I found that after 3 weeks I was noticing a decrease in swelling. Still slightly swollen now, and can be mildly painful if touching a specific spot. But when erect and during sex all fine. Hang in there, it’ll get better!
Makes me feel a bit better, might be to do with the way the incisions were made. Good to hear that its going away for you. I really am hoping it's just a swelling issue and it will decrease now im at 4 weeks, I think I can see it being attached to the incision ring on the inside which seems swollen too still but my erections havent let me pull back that far yet and I'm worried to do it on my own by forcing it. I'm concerned that even after swelling what if the frenulum skin is extra, baggy or something like that. Hopefully not, seeing surgeon tomorrow for a review.
Had the review, turns out I had a short frenulum and the swelling there is totally normal for the incision made. Will take 6 months to go down and for the hypersensitivity to go away.
How's it going now JohnsSmith9
Still the same 6 months after surgery, might have gone down a little but not much. I'm concerned they will need to do more surgery or else preform a full circumcision, I'm really happy with my partial its just the frenulum swelling. I don't know if I should be icing it or not since it might not technically be swelling and I could be disrupting the healing. I just don't know. I'm going to contact the surgeon soon to see what he makes of it
I had a full circumcision 3 weeks ago for short/tight frenulum so still quite early days I understand. Frenulum swelling (as well as swelling everywhere else) was very pronounced for the week but has slowly started to reduce. Zero pain. Feels quite 'firm' to touch compared to the scar line around the shaft. Hoping this will reduce in time. I have had reassurance from surgeon it will return to normal given time.
Did you speak to your surgeon? what/how did they advise you?
Hi John I’m on day 10 I also had partial circumcision with NHS. As of today I no longer have much pain however the swelling is heavy.. frenulum and sides of shaft, literally looks like a gear stick. I was wondering if you was able to clean behind the skin left or just left it to heal? Due to swelling I can’t pull mine back at the moment.
