On 4th day of circumcision. Have been getting very painful boners at night and due to that I feel it has started bleeding somewhat. I assume boners would put pressure on stitches. Anyone else faces it ? How to avoid boners and bleeding

Hey, I had my op 11 days ago (40 yrs old) and this seems to be my biggest issue. Apart from the sensitivity I don't seem to have many problems during the day but at night I wake up 5 or 6 times each time due to the pain caused by an erection. I do my best to get rid of the erection quickly (think of something boring etc) but would love to know a way to prevent them all together!! I'd be a bit wary about taking any medication just in case it caused further issues.

My only advice is to sleep naked, at least that way its only the erection causing the pain, rather than it getting trapped in boxer shorts etc. I did ask my dr about getting erections prior to having the op and he did say he saw them as a good thing as its constantly stretching the skin. I guess more of an issue if this has caused bleeding. Get some vaseline on before bed and hopefully that stop any bleeding. Good luck!

Hi, I can understand your pain too. What I am doing is I am trying to sleep early and getup by 2AM and be awake till morning. And then complete my sleep in the day. Have taken off from work. I know this is not a good way as it is disturbing my sleep patterns. But can't do anything as the pain after erection is too much

There are some things you can take to help stop erections but it won’t completely stop them.

The best advice I was given was to sleep with a pillow between the legs and laid on your side with your knees up as far as you can. Also don’t drink after 7-8PM and try and empty your bladder as much as you can before sleeping.

I was struggling pretty bad with erections during my first 30 days post and ended up having stitches pulled out because of them. (I think me being more of a grower didn’t help)

I did go to the hospital in which they offered me a course of diazepam, but these took it from 4-5 erections a night to around 3-4 a night. So had little effect.

Get a shot of 30 day Lupron. That should keep your sex drive down until it heals.

hey mate. Looks like you’ve got some good advise here.

I agree with the comments. Drinking less in the evening. Pillow between legs. Vaseline. I wore jersey briefs instead of boxers to start with, then went naked after it started healing, And bought boxers that separate my D from my balls (just wears) for the day. I used an eye infection gel on my cut line (docs advise) and that was soo helpful. No porn obvs!

I had a turp op for my prostate and the night after I had a very painful nighttime erection with the catheter still in me up into my bladder. I couldn't move as I was post op and they'd put me on a machine to help my leg circulation. Looking for the help button I found instead a glass of cold water. Placing the cold glass on my penis killed the erection pretty quickly. I did this successfully the next 2 nights.
