I was done as an infant back when they just held you down and used a scalpel to hack foreskin tissue off a child's penis. They made a rough job of it and I have tunnel scars from stitching that fill with smegma.
I am 30 but have only been married for a year and my wife doesn't like the way my scarring has made my penis hard to clean. Have others tried to get this sort of mess cleaned up?

It is a great pity that you were not circumcised correctly as a baby, when it would have healed quickly.
Only a doctor skilled in revisions can give you a definite answer, but in most cases a revision can be done to tidy up the original circumcision and give you an attractive and fully functioning penis.
If you are in the UK, or prepared to come to London for a revision, you can get details of some suitable clinics from The Circumcision Helpdesk (info@circumcisionhelpdesk.org)
Thanks. I am in New Zealand and could probably find a skilled surgeon. When I was circumcised I had bleeding that required stitches that have left tunnel scars and the wounds also became infected so a lot of damage was done. I suspect that these are what some doctors refer to as 'minor adverse events' but they have caused me so much pain and distress that I am wary of further penile surgery. Given that I had a normal, healthy foreskin when I was born it is hard for me to accept that what happened is actually permitted by a law that says that this surgery can be performed on male babies even if they don't need it.
