Since my operation on New Year’s Eve to remove a hernia on my right side groin area, my penis and testicles have bruised badly and my testicles have become very swollen. They are not sore but needless to say they have me a little concerned.
I was expecting my groin area to bruise but there seems to be no other swelling or bruising in the area.
has anyone had this before?
Don't worry mate. Same thing happened to me after hernia surgery (three times!). The surgeon didn't warn me about this. The horrible bruising lasted for quite a long time.
Mine was exactly the same. Penis and testicles very dark purple to black colour. Testicles almost the size of a football. However when I had the other side done I only had bruising to penis. What you have is perfectly normal to which the surgeon warned me about pre op. There was no pain and testicles went to normal size within 4 to 5 days.
Yes, something happened where the area around testicles and penis is moved about causing bruising and discomfort. I had the left side done to corrrect Inguinal Hernia in September and now in early January there is still a little tenderness in the left testicle, though only when the tender area is touched directly. I'm assuming after a couple more weeks it'll all feel normal again.
I’m due to see a surgeon at the end of the month regarding left inguinal hernia surgery , it’s on the nhs I want it doing under local but my Gp says it’s all done under general , I don’t fancy being put to sleep if Incan help it
