Consultation for circumcision in late April

I'm an American of Puerto Rican descent who is 42 years old and uncircumcised. My parents didn't have me circumcised at birth due to cultural reasons. In Hispanic culture, circumcision is not common. I wish I was circumcised at birth.

I would be the only one in my class in school who was uncircumcised. Also, when I was in the military, we showered in open bay showers. Again, most guys were circumcised. With that being said, I have always thought that circumcised penis looked more attractive and masculine. I have to retract my foreskin to pee, masturbate, have sex, wear a condom, and clean. Often after cleaning my penis, smegma world accumulate under my foreskin and it would smell. Also my glans would be sticky. After I pee, some urine would collect in my foreskin.

During sex with my partner it would be sometimes painful as the foreskin is in the way. When receiving oral sex, it would feel tight with my foreskin retracted.

I have a consultation scheduled for April. The style that I want is high/tight or low/tight, so that no foreskin remains. I more leaning towards low/tight, so that I don't have a scar that is very visible. Also, it would be easier for me to do everything without a foreskin.

Hi I have a low and tight circumcision you will always have visible scars but not as obvious and eventually they will fade over time. Hope this helps 😂

I think it is a matter of opinion and how you approach things. I could not retract until my twenties and had no problem doing all the things you seem to be having problems with.If you really want the Op' go for it but you can overcome the problems you seem to be having without Surgery.

I think it's sad that so much of your motivation to get circumcised is about appearance. Here in the UK most of us are intact and we don't tease each other or comment on each other's penile appearance in the locker room or showers. Our women don't go yuk when they see our foreskin and we enjoy the exquisite feeling that only the nerve endings in the foreskin can give us. The more I see the complications described on this forum the more I think it's a big risk to go for removal when there is so much that can be done to stretch and loosen if at times there is tightness. As I get older (I'm 71) my skin gets drier but coconut oil rubbed in night and morning has vastly improved my foreskin and I would be sadif I'd lost it. I praise your parents that they left you intact so you now have a choice. I feel strongly with the 'Blood-stained Men' that infant circumcision for looks, pseudo hygiene concerns, doctors' earnings or harvesting cells for the cosmetic industry, religious or cultural reasons is a violation of human rights. Then as a trained psychotherapist and child protection social worker I'm convinced infant circumcision at a vital time of breast-feeding and bonding is very bad for babies, potentially causing trauma and later psychological issues.

I got circumcised almost two years and for about the same reasons as you. I am so glad I had it done. For me, it looks and feels better! Good luck!

I too was circumcised in Oct 20 at age 70. My experiences were similar to yours. I love the look and cleanliness. Sensitivity is greatly diminished, however, and sometimes I have trouble reaching orgasm. It is a trade off. I do not regret it.

Can you let me know how your experience goes? I’ve been wanting to get circumcised for years now. But my philosophy is if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
