Downward bend after circumcision

Hi all,

I got circumcised 22 days ago, I initially posted about a nasty wound on the back. Since then I have noticed that when my penis is erect, it is bending downwards and feels uncomfortable. It does seem like more skin was removed on the right side of the back compared to the left.

I never had any curvature issues before - is this likely to resolve itself or am I going to have to look into a revision as there isn’t enough skin to accommodate? This whole experience has so far been really awful and I am having big regrets despite getting circumcised due to phimosis.

Thanks,

I should add, my frenulum was removed so that is not the cause of it. The bend starts at the upper part of the shaft around the incision area

I think that they probably stiched you too tight or maybe there still swelling and when the swelling resolves, everything will be back to normal

Really appreciate the response. If it has been stitched too tightly, I’m assuming that would require a revision?

Prepuce is just skin. Elastic to a degree. Need to give it a couple of months.

Thanks for the response. Will definitely check in with the doctor. Do you recall how long it took to straighten out?

To notice it looking straighter was maybe like 2 years. Still not fully straight buy I'd imagine still getting better

Hi mate, I'm one day behind you at 21 days. My frenulum area is just about closed as was pulling down as well affecting urination slightly. It's slowly starting to release a bit and loosen. I think it will come good as the internal joins adhere and completely heal.

Hiya. In uk myself. Was this private freehand or NHS with a general, and where?

Is there any pulling when soft? 3 weeks is quite early.

Hey, it was private freehand. Clementine Churchill Hospital in London. I wouldn’t recommend - near existent aftercare and the urologist I’ve had is very dismissive and only scheduled a 6 week telephone check up. I’ve had to force my way into seeing him.

I am not sure if it is the swelling around where my frenulum incision that is causing it it do drop down - I have noticed it slightly when flaccid too which makes me think it maybe the swelling. Hard to say at this point - I am just hoping things correct themselves over the next few weeks.

I would say reaction to swelling and anaesthetic. Very surprising as on the surface, they look responsible, but they are Circle Health Care, which employ staff from all over. They might work at 50 different places. That follow up is poor. You should get better service. See how it is after 6 weeks. I'd also leave a review here! They might see it and contact you : )

Appreciate the response! Yeah, I am trying to keep a positive frame of mind on it. Unfortunately he didn’t really discuss much with me about what he would be doing and why - I felt confident to go with him as he’s very experienced and knew of my Phimosis condition pretty well.

But as soon as I paid and he operated it is has been near impossible getting hold of him. Loads of my stitches broke pretty quickly from mild infection and being stitched a bit too tight - he gave my antibiotics on the day.

When I followed up with him by force and saw him 2 weeks later, he sent a letter to my GP saying I got infection from leaving the bandage on too long (untrue) and that he gave me antibiotics (also untrue). He’s all over the place and clearly does so many of these a week, it’s all a bit too routine for him.

My cut is quite low and tight so I was worried about losing length as it appeared shorter. However, I’ve since had a few firmer erections and it’s looked closer to its original size which is a huge relief after reading some of the posts on here.

Fingers crossed the next few weeks will be smoother - waiting for my wounds to finally close up before thinking too much about the other stuff just yet.

Good luck with that. My choice is Circumcision Pro in London. Specialists. Not been yet, as pandemic stopped me before.

Hey , I got circumsicion 4 months ago. For the first month or two my penis bent backwards alot. I thought it was very serious but it was just the swelling. Now 4 months in, it is straight. Be patient. Its just swelling.
