Day 8 - swelling just under incision line

I’ve been instructed to keep my penis in a gauze (which I change regularly) and keep it up in my pants the whole time which is meant to reduce swelling. There is more swelling on the right side of the incision line and it looks like the inner foreskin maybe? I’m just wondering if this is normal and if the swelling will go down or is this something to worry about

I’m 6 week post op today and my swelling went down completely by 4 weeks it’s nothing to be alarmed about bro it’s all part of the healing good luck 🙏🏻

Thank you 🙏🏼 just worried because I think maybe a stitch came out on the right side a bit early

That happened me on right side. It took that side about 10 days more to heal than the other side.

Just keep putting fresh gauze on everday until all wounds heal it’ll prevent infection and shower two times a day for first couple weeks

It’s nothing to worry about,if it’s the inner foreskin that’s swollen then that can take longer to go down, some people are lucky and it goes down quickly and for others it can take longer. It’s filled with lymphatic fluid because after the cut there’s nowhere for it to drain off to and you just have to wait for it re absorb in its own time.I’m 5.5 months and I’ve got the same as you and it’s just starting to go down…I asked my doc about it and he said for most guys it’s completely gone by 12 months but it can take some people 18 months or more but that’s rare.So just patience and don’t worry if it takes some time,it will get better.

How does that swelling look/feel now after that many months? Does it affect sex or anything

Its on the left under the glans and stretches a little up around the side,it’s going down bit by bit and now it’s about half as swollen as it was at first,so all on track. Its not too sensitive anymore,90% of the time I don’t even notice it but sometimes if it’s been rubbing all day then it’ll get irritated but dies down quickly. As to sex etc,I wear a condom to keep everything nicely tight and in place, lots of lube and it’s fine,no problems..basically it takes time for everything to heal up properly,as my doc said,it’s a year for the incision etc to heal completely inside through to the outside,so if it takes sometime for things to settle down don’t panic,it’ll get there.

Also, how much do erections affect healing? cause they hurt but not as much as they used to but I’m not sure if it’s having a massive impact on healing or not…I do try control myself but it’s just natural sometimes like at night

Erections aren’t harmful, just painful they even help straighten out the scarring initially

One question, how much longer will you keep your penis in a gauze?
