Swelling & Dried blood - Circumcision Day -8

I'm on day 8 of circumcision. The swelling has reduced as compared to 1st week. But the swelling around frenulum area is still there and it appears like a dried blood around that area. I am unable to hard wipe with cotton as my glands are sensitive.... Please suggest a remedy

Don't use cotton instead, try Epsom salt soaking twice a day and use soap water to clean it preferably Dettol(Soap) Just take soap water in a mug and clean it.This will help.

Hey!...Thanks bro!

Yes I'm cleaning daily with Luke warm water...but the dried up blood won't go

Can I use a pinch of table salt instead of Epsom salt?

Yes you can use table salt too, but Epsom salt has magnesium sulfate which heals inflammation, swelling and relieves pain too. I would recommend you to use Epsom.

Epsom salts are only for muscular problems and will not help with this issue.

Scabs are part of the healing process and will remove themselves when healing is accomplished. Best to leave them alone.

I’m exactly the same stage as you, 8 days post op. I have been doing salt water soaks twice a day where I put one table spoon of table salt into a cup of hot water let it cool to a comfortable temperature then submerge the area in the water for 3/4 minutes. This could be helpful to you as you wouldn’t need to touch the wound to clean it.

Can I ask how your sensitivity is, I’m slowly getting better but still quite uncomfortable when walking in clothes

Sure...I'll give salt water soaking a try today!

Regarding sensitivity. I was not able to wear any clothes on the day I took off the bandage done by surgeon

After that I found a hack!....I put gauze all around my penis and plastered it in upright with my abdomen. In this position I was able to walk without much discomfort

From day 7 I was able to wear normal clothes without gauze ... however I feel pricking & itching sensation occassionally

Till date I'm not able to wipe/rub my glands with cotton or my fingers....hope it gets better soon (I did circumcision due to Phimosis)

Thanks for the advice ! And that’s for sharing your experience bro! My glands have become desensitised I can run my finger along it with little discomfort
