19 days in and still....

19 days in after my circumcision, and the underside is still swollen and very red and tender. My Dr. is a 4 hour drive away, I keep sending pics to him and says its healing fine. He says I should not bandage it but I cannot cope with the pain of not having it wrapped. Anyone else experience this???

Mine was sore and tender but healed soo much quicker without the bandages.

I just bathed it to keep it clean and used bio-oil to help it heal as it’s good for scarring.

Try soaking in a warm bath with Epsom salts - it will heal soon. Mines was oozing/bloody looking for weeks

There is no recent evidence for Epsom salt bath to open wound. We are not talking about sore muscles now. Epsom salt is mentioned with wound on literature before WWII. Here in Nordic countries in hospitals saline solution is used if tap water is not enough.

If you find proper scientific evidence for Epsom salt on wound care, please share with us. Pro-circumcision site leaflet for after care does not count.

Hospitals will tend to use normal saline exclusively because they have bags of it around for many purposes.

Again, different countries have different ways of dealing with some matters. Nordic ones may not use Epsom Salts, but these are widely used in the rest of Europe and the USA.

Thanks for your response. I've seen it, but what I wish they have some scientific and/or evidence-based medicine on it. Not just, we have used this thousand of years and don't know why. There is no recent scientific articles about Epsom salt.

Saline solution is used, cause our blood and cells have same amount of sodium (Na 0.9%) than on saline solution. It is said, it won't irritate as much as a tap water. I haven't noticed any difference.

The most import thing is the water is pollution free at least. Not from muddy river without boiling it first.

Hello friend im 29 days post op and still have lots of problems we all heal at different rates stop the panic have it without bandage for couple hours a day then when your active put bandage on it wont do any harm! my incision line has gaps so i still dress it because stops things getting into my wound

Remove the bandage -‘it will heal in a couple of days - I am on day 16 - masturbated ones already - all good - left wound open from day 3

Wear a loose underwear and hold it so that it doesn’t touch the glans.
