Circumcision

Had circumcision on the 11/10/2021 and now have yellowish scabs forming on the (head of the penis) and around the cut edge, am not sure if this is infection or part of the healing process as such am concerned please advise

Hi, I'm 67 but reasonably fit. I had my circumcision nearly 2.5 weeks ago due to having Balanitis. It's been 2.5 weeks of hell as healing was terribly slow. A phone call from the hospital had detected an infection of Hemolytic Streptococcus b which I must have had for a while. Now taking penicillin which is now speeding recovery.The yellow scabs are normal and it's early days for you. Doc advised savlon which is incredibly helpful but as always check with the guys who performed the op.

Yellow scab is probably normal, it's the glans adjusting to it's new environment. Will clear up in 3-4 days of you leave it alone. It's usually referred to as wet scab because it's a bit like if you soak a graze in water. I had it from day 4 to day 9 with a patch near where the frenulum was which took longer to heal. Any concerns though just give the day surgery unit a call. If you keep it reasonably dry it will heal quicker. Gets quite itchy though
