Frequent urinating post circumcision

Anyone notice frequency in urination after getting a circumcision?

It's been the opposite for me but I was dealing with increased urgency and frequency pre-op

That’s interesting, I’m guessing it’s due to increased sensitivity now without foreskin. But I’m surprised it’s changed for you in the opposite way

Yeah me too! Urologist wasn't expecting it and can't explain it. I'm easily getting through the night now where quite often I was getting up a couple of times to pee.

Yes, it seems to be getting a bit better now (6 weeks) but at times I was going every 30mins.

Ya some days it’s no problem, but yesterday for example I was going almost every hour

going little and often for me, which is annoying as I have to deal with urine drips for several minutes after weeing every time. I don't think this is a new issue tho - I guess my foreskin just used to catch/hide the drips before : /

Have you mentioned this to your doctor? Sounds a bit like my prostatic symptoms. Are you ( like me ) in an older age group?

I'm 37. And yes, it's been dripping post-surgery for several minutes. But maybe it's always done that and the foreskin was just catching/hiding it? I've always been a tissue dabber after weeing, and was always longer at urinals cos had to keep flicking my penis around to encourage the last drops. Haven't mentioned to a professional yet.

I see. It may be worth getting a doctor involved because if your bladder is not completely emptying there is a risk of urine infection and kidney impairment. I’m also a flicker for this very reason!

I had blood and urine tests that all came out fine. GP then examined my prostate and said it feels a little enlarged. She's referred me to a urologist to do scans on the area including bladder to see if it's emptying properly. Says nothing to be too concerned about - I'm just a little on the young side.

I remember when I had a bladder scan. I had to drink lots of fluids beforehand and not go for a pee. Driving to hospital for the scan including the speed bumps in the approach to the car park was really uncomfortable! But the scan itself was no problem.

what was the outcome?

It confirmed an enlarged prostate and a benign cyst on a kidney. They rescanned after a pee and there was no significant residual volume of urine. Then I was commenced on tamsulosin.
