Covered or uncovered?

Hey guys I’m currently on day 9 of my post circumcision journey (due to phimosis) was wondering is it best to keep it wrapped in gauze or to keep it out bear (when I’m home) that is?

Also the past few nights were kind of rough do tonight erections waking me up, They weren’t so much as painful just the tugging feeling scares me a little on top of gland being sensitive still.

I got mine almost 5 weeks ago due to the same reason as you. The more you keep it exposed the faster it will heal. First week I left it open as much as I could throughout the day, now it’s mainly at nights when I’m sleeping. It’s a slow process. I’m still not fully healed after this long. My frenulum area is still pretty swollen.

Yeah it looks like my incision line has started to heal together I don’t see any more gaps in between also two of my sutures fell out today during my cleaning and changing my gauze.

Scab or yellowish crust does not mean healed wound. Science has showed the moist wound care will produce better outcome and a strips of surgical skin tape and a gauze support the incision line against unwanted stretching until the wound is healed and there is no discharge anymore.

So keeping it wrapped with Vaseline is best?

Vaseline or paraffin gauze is used to prevent a gauze stick into wound. Even the cheapest roller bandage won't stick into dry wound, but if there is any discharge you may know what will happen.

There is also non-adherent gauzes available, but they are more expensive to use, if you change the dressing once a day.

Keeping the incision site wrapped you'll protect the wound against stretching and keep the site warmer than without a gauze.

Yes I still get a little yellow discharge on the left side so I use Vaseline to prevent sticking.

FYI, my post-op instructions said I could remove the gauze the day after, or something like that which I did. What does your post-op instructions say?

I was told just to keep it clean and dry and let it breathe, also took my second bath today annit wasn’t that bad.
