Its actually normal to have erections. If ever you do not get erections during the night, then you should be concerned and go see a doctor. Also everyone is different and you don't know in advance if erections will cause you pain. You might sleep right through them. It caused me minor pain for about a week, but after that I adjusted and the pain subsided.
