Not able to get that whether my stitches will get dissolved or not

It's been 11 days of my circumcision operation and the knots haven't yet dissolved completely. What do in that case? I am eating fruits and healthy food for all this but I am worried that will it be able to heal my wound soon.

It’s probably ok to cut and remove the stitches if you want.

DO NOT attempt to remove your own stitches. Your wound is sewn for a reason. If they're dissolvable (I'm sure they are) they'll drop out when they're ready. Shower and wash the area often. If you're concerned speak with your doctor. 👍

Just let the stitches be as they are at least three weeks post-op or contact your healthcare provider and let them to decide whether is good time to remove them.

If you'll remove them too early the incision line may open and then it will heal by secondary intention.

You can give salt bath to your penis to promote healing process on daily basis. Dry the wound carefully then and apply petroleum jelly and cover with a gauze.

I am doing that....I bath, I don't apply soap, I put Vaseline jelly and betadine cream over my incision....I am not touching the stitches.

If you still apply Betadine cream do it before apply petroleum jelly, because vaseline creates protective layer and you loose the only benefit you can get from povidone-iodine cream.

Yeah....I do that only....firstly I put betadine and then I put petroleum jelly on glans....I don't put petroleum jelly on my incision.

Shani - fear not. 11 days is not enough time for your stitches to dissolve. Did your doctor or surgeon not tell you this? I'm post-op 24 days and my last stich came out yesterday in the shower (using a soft wash-cloth) - shower daily (perhaps twice) and wipe around the wound gently. The stitches will not let you know when they want to dissolve BUT but they will let you know if they dont want to as they'll sting like a splinter. Keep it clean and be patient. Good luck. 👍
