FYI: Here in Northern part of Europe 10% povidone-iodine is used only in operation theatre when cleaning the skin before op. 80% ethyl alcohol is more common now to use cleaning the skin (not wound), cause some of the patients can have an allergy to iodine.
After operation: undiluted 10% (100mg/ml) Betadine solution can be too strong for an open wound and may slow down the healing process. If your doctor suggest you to use Betadine powder on wound. It could be fine then. We don't use Betadine powder here at all.
Betadine powder could be 2,5% already:
use neosporin powder.. it is better than bitadine. bitadine powder may slow down the healing process
