Swollen circumcision after 8 months

I want to talk about my circumcision. I got circumcised on sept 3 2020 eight months ago. Today is March 16 2021. My penis circumcision site is still very swollen like day one. Kinda looks like a donut ring of skin around my penis where the circumcision site is located. The pain was bad, but as months were passing by the pain and discomfort decreased. I spoke to my doctor about the swelling. And how come it looks like that . He just keeps saying that it’s healing and that I should wait till it goes down. But I feel like there is something wrong and that it shouldn’t be this swollen.

8 months seems like a long time to recover from a procedure. Perhaps you should get a second opinion.

Do you think a regular doctor would be good to get a second opinion or should I check out another Uroligist.

I think either would do, but I am leaning to seeking a second opinion from another urologist.

Hey, I think your count is wrong. You’re six months in, almost seven.😅

It’s still very far in for you to have swelling like that.

If you don’t have any medical conditions that would cause your healing and repair time to be that slow I’d say seek a second opinion at another doctor. If you have such comorbidities maybe your doc is just taking those into account?

I spoke to my urologist the one that did the procedure. He said that it should go down and that I shouldn’t worry. But my circumcision site is still super puffy and is worrying me a lot.

I've read, that by default.. It'll take 18 months to fully heal.

I am at 2 months and my incision gets irritated sometimes. The skin is not flat it's still puffy a bit. My dr said it can take up to 1 year for the skin to smother out

Mines was getting irritated a lot in the beginning but as weeks pass the irritation decreased. Yea my doctor also said in a year it will flatten down. I still get some irritation on the right side. My circumcision is still puffy all around.

Ya I hear you the irritation is annoying. Does it get irritated randomly or fo youvhave triggers ? Do you find that sex or masturbation makes it worse?

Sex and masterbation does provoke the irritation

Am in the same situation. I had mine done in February 2020 and it doesn't seem to have changed at all. Doctors keep saying it will go down with time but it's been over a year now. There is no pain or anything it's just swollen. At this point am just waiting.

What’s up shefreng. The doctors keep telling me the same as well. I went to 3 different Uroligist in my city and they all said it’s definitely swollen and it should flatten down. I hope your swelling goes down, and mines to. Is your circumcision swollen all around? The technique my urologist used was cut and suture. I think the sutures they used on my circumcision were thick and resulted into swelling but that’s what I’m guessing.

It's swollen all around but much greater near the frenulum. Am suspecting that it's not fully healed on the inside thus all the swelling

Hey man, my irritation and burning is also coming from the bottom half the frenulum part and swollen too but not that much and it has gotten worse in the past week where I was feeling pretty good since healing from the surgery. It's so sensetive I almost feel like there might still be stitches under the skin still. I got circumcised due to irritation and balanitis and it almost feels like the same feeling after the circumcision. Did you have similar experiences?

Hello Luinch, the swelling has gone down, a lot, but at the bottom near the frenulum remains puffy. The rest of the circumcision looks like loose skin, but when erect it’s not noticeable only the scar line.

But it's been 3 years now, hasn't it? Have you checked with your doctor or urologist?
