For how many days should I use antibacterial ointment after circumcision?

Is it ok to use antibacterial ointment, such as Neosporin or Bacitracin Zinc, for more than a week? And should I keep using it or no?

I used it 3 times a day for 2 weeks. After that, then doctor told me that there was no need to apply it anymore since the incision was pretty much closed!

Don't think there's any harm in it and the longer you go the less risk there is anyway.
