Hello guys, I’m new here, hope you’re doing great.
I’ve ben circumcised 16 days ago and everything went well...but now I am a bit worried...I wanted to put a pic to ask you guys if everything is ok but idk how to.
I’m worried because there is a yellow thing on the frenulum for several days now that it cannot be removed, during the day it becomes hard and dry and after the shower it’s kinda soft but it’s stuck there even if I try to remove it; and because all the stitches are still there.
I can wear underwear/pants without any problem, no sensivity problems, only the yellow thing & the stitches.
Thanks you all for reading this.

If there’s isn’t any pain or bleeding you should be fine and it will fall off in time. I’m just over 2 months now and it’s all back to normal. I didn’t take showers as it was hard to clean so instead I took baths for 5-10 mins for the first 2 weeks. After that I had 3 stitches that fell out way to early and lead the wound to be open but 2 month down the line it’s all closed. Just hang in there I’m sure you’re doing great for 16 days
Congrats. I'm in 3rd week. My stitches only hurt since I started getting erections again, but pain is gradually decreasing. My penis head is uncomfortable in underwear or when it brushes against anything, so I have to wear a gauze to cushion it sometimes.
Well it started a few days ago. At first it was weird but it get better and better and it will get even better.
When I wear tight underwear it’s ok, but sometimes with the erections/moves it can hurt a bit. During the day, at home I wear some large shorts and no underwear and honestly i don’t have any problem.
Wow, seems like we got circumcised at the exact same time. I believe I have that also, however, I'm not removing or picking at anything. I'm allowing things to fall off at their own time.
Ok, yeah it seems to be the best solution.Thank you for your answer. Have a good recovery man
After spending some time on this forum you’ll realize how common all these concerns are and how often it’s nothing to be concerned about. Not knowing drives us nuts with worry. You’ll discover here that the frenulum can take much longer to heal.
I’m on day 16 myself. The yellow is gone but there is still an open wound. I’m going to try and shower normally for the first time and then perhaps leave things out in the open to dry for a bit longer before applying the dressing as it seemed to have healed quite a bit apart from frenulum area. I had the odd stitch coming off from about day 3 but there are still some remaining.
Today is the first day I did not apply dressing. I felt like stopping before but I reckon it couldn’t do any harm to continue. I always made sure everything was dried properly, using a hair dryer. I’ll see how it goes and perhaps continue with the dressing. My guess is that allowing it to air might help to heal a little quicker but increase the risk of scarring or infection. I wear very loose soccer pants since the surgery with no underwear and put on a clean pair daily. The fabric is very smooth and light and allows everything to move about naturally so to speak. How are things progressing with you?
I am on day 6. I am having a nurse change my gauze dressing everyday. I am just wearing tshirt and loose towel. Not able to wear shorts or pants since it hurts when tip of penis rubs against clothes.
My stitches haven’t dissolved yet. Glans still looks swollen. Looks like my progress is very slow
If you’ve been given antibiotic cream apply that. I applied a lot in the early stages but less and less as healing took place. Only where the wound looked really raw. Make sure your hands are clean. I also applied petroleum jelly (vaseline) but tried to avoid the incision area. It’s recommended to help prevent the gauze from sticking to the skin but that wasn’t a big issue for me.Using gauze which is self-adhesive really simplifies the task. When removing the gauze, soak in lukewarm salt water sporadically as it comes off just long enough to do the trick. Two teaspoons of salt per 250ml water does not sting. Use your fingers dipped into the salt water to gently clean away the cream from the day before and then let it dry properly. A hairdryer can help speed it up. I’d use toilet paper for patting dry the patches where blood/lymphatic liquid seeped through just before applying the ointment but do not rub or pull off any thing that does not come off easily by itself. Gauze wrapped fairly tightly apparently helps reduce swelling. For me I just liked the secure fit. I was given some by the hospital upon release which was 4cm in width. I couldn’t find any like that once I ran out so I bought some that are 8cm wide. Once a roll is finished it makes a handy object to pee through to prevent having to mop up afterward urinating as some people (me included) start peeing in multiple streams and at all angles from the swelling.😋
It’s not the same but it is good. You will gauge for yourself when you can stop putting on cream. It’s good to let the wound dry well after cleaning but the cream provides moisture underneath the dressing which is a good environment for skin regeneration and may help keep infections at bay. I’m still applying cream after 17 days.Underwear is a matter of whatever feels comfortable. I could not stand the pressure of briefs on the underside of my penis, but I never wear briefs anyway. I usually wear boxers but since the circumcision I wore no underwear and very loose fitting shorts.
Some sources recommend tight underwear to keep the penis in an upright position to reduce swelling or drainage or something but I couldn’t. I think it’s of more worth to avoid friction. Drink lots of water and if you can zinc and vitamin C supplementation are also said to help with recovery.
One gets gauze that sticks to itself but not to skin due to some treatment with zinc. That type won’t come off. It’s really worth it if you can find some. Otherwise, traditionally gauze would be followed with bandage which can be kept together with special elastic with small metal hooks, but maybe some sort of fabric plaster could be applied over the gauze too.
Ok, thank you for your answer. Yeah it seems to be a good thing to let it dry and let it out for some more time before applying the dressing. Keep in touch to see how it goes.
Hang in there time will pass and heal the wound. Now I didnt have it myself, but I've also seen a lot of people here talking about this yellow thing and they all went well in the end because it is normal. Also do not worry it can be hard going throught this but you are not alone. Im 3 months in and its been hard but it does get better for sure. I do still have some discomforts sometimes but I believe that someday it'll be back to normal. Don't give up!✊
