Considering Circumcision for Phimosis/Hypersensetivity

Hey, i'm new here. So i've had Phimosis from birth (or puberty depending how you define it), alongside fairly severe glans hypersensetivity and i've generally just ignored it. Aside from the mental aspect of feeling self conscious, i've usually managed okay with sex though it never really felt as good as i'd expect, and i've had some difficulty climaxing though I can somewhat consistently with a partner i'm used to. Sometimes sex just feels like almost nothing, and oral sex does very little for me.

I've always been very averse to the idea of circumcision, mostly because i'm afraid that my glans will not lose it's hypersensetivity and I will be unable to have sex without numbing cream and will be generally uncomfortable. Recently I started to get mild BXO/Lichen Scelrosus, and i'm currently using steroid creams. This, as well as a few awkward sexual experiences recently, have made me reconsider circumcision. Has anyone here who had circusmcision with hypersensetivity had it not go away after time? That's my main fear and i'm really not sure what to do.

Do you have great issues with retraction and what advice have you been given by the clinician treating your BXO?
