Hi, just looking for some advice. I had a circumcision 4 days ago and the majority looks to be ok with minimal discomfort but the top left side looks like an open wound. Has anyone else ever had something similar, it stings when in contact with anything. I am waiting for a call back from the GP but can only imagine that they will tell me it will heal itself. Is there anything anyone can recommend I do to minimise pain/discomfort on a daily basis? Thank you.

And if your GP tells you that the he will be right. Any gap in a wound (have you lost a stitch?) will heal be secondary intention. That is a slightly longer process. For pain relief - generally paracetamol.

Appreciate your response, I don’t think I have lost a stitch. Just spoke to the doctor and he has advised that I should start to see a difference by Thursday/Friday. Hoping that this is the case. I read up on the secondary intention healing and this may be the case too. Will keep on top of the painkillers. Thank you again for your reply.
If you can't walk around naked, wrap a gauze around your penis and/or pad your underwear with gauze. Make sure pants aren't too tight. I unfortunately wore jeans the other day and as I was driving, I ended up sitting in a certain position that agitated a small upper left portion of my wound also.
I hope you use a gauze on wound already until it is healed properly. Dressing will support the wound edges and stitches. Strips of skin adhesive tape (like Micropore) work as well. Put a bit petroleum jelly on wound then the dressing won't stuck in wound discharge.
