Post Circumcision night time bleeding

I got circumcised 4 days ago due to phimosis and everything is going well other than I was wondering about why I wake up with a small pool of blood each night. Could this be from nocturnal erections or friction due to not being covered in a gauze? The bleeding never happens while I’m awake so is this a normal part of the healing? I have dissolvable stitches also

Slight leakage in the first week or so is normal, it will seal soon. Suggest you might want to wrap it with a Melolin low-adherent absorbent dressing held in place with Micropore tape to catch the blood. Good luck with the healing

I was same situation.. No bandage after 2 days post op . wasmt going well and doc also said no gauze or anything except coconut oil.. Used to bleed each night and wasn't healing underside area due to friction hence Have started using betadine cream + parafin gauze & normal gauze - doesn't stick , no bleeding & healing faster than before.

The bleeding had dramatically decreased last night only a tiny drop but if it persists I will definitely use this suggestion thank you

If you are able to proper daily wound care. There is no reason why not to protect and cover the incision line against friction until there is no wound discharge anymore. You can ask your own doctor, why he/she is against it.

Ps. Situation can be different, if you live in bushes or desert and have no shower.

Very true.. Bandage is critical for wound healing is what I have learnt from my experience . Trust me I stay in decent city with superb medical facilities but the majority docs are not advising bandage - not sure why . They seem to prefer keratinisation to wound healing but personally I feel the wound needs to heal first so that you also feel good and healthy .

I stuck with the bandage off purely because I didn’t have any at the time of posting this and it got better fairly quick and doesn’t need one ke but really would’ve liked having one during the night while it was still tender
