What to expect during healing process after surgery?
Well, first what kind of surgery you have had?
It really does look scaby and weepy intially...don't freak out! Its easy to think its infected when it actually isnt as the scabs look yellow. There an be quite a lot of swelling for sometime...give it a good 3 weeks, 1 month before it starts looking normal...any concerns go to the doctor for peace of mind...try not to worry.
And what do you mean with you dont know whats happening with you? If it is mentally speaking just try to be calm and positive and support yourself with family and friends that may understand your worries. In 2 months you will be laughing about it. Keep positive that all scars heal !
I've recently circumcised & I don't know if it's still healing normally , but hopefully it will be ok as time goes. Was thinking to visit my doctor just to confirm if all is accordingly
Thanks
If you take a look topics on last couple of months and read them all. You'll be on a map what to expect like swelling, discharge on wound, stitches etc.
Thanks
If you have any worries, please see your doctor who will ensure that your healing is going well. Do you have a follow-up with the surgeon who operated on you?
Nop I don't have a follow up , I guess because it is circumcision Who should look after myself . But to have no worries I should visit again just to be sure
Thanks
Everyone heals different but this is my experience:
Week one: soreness, uncomfortable sleep, semi hard erections that pulled on the stitches. Pain level between 4 throughout the day and at night 7-9 depending on erections. Also notice a few stitches coming out. Swollen.
Week two: most of the stitches are out, had at least 6 left, I was impressed because the stitches underneath the frenulum fell off first which everyone has trouble with, still uncomfortable night sleeps, erections pulling on those pesky stitches, being sore was not as much as first week just on the stitches. Pain level 1-2.
Week three: (currently on) no more pain, all of the stitches are gone except for one at the top. I can sleep on my stomach ❤️ there’s no more pain in the erections, still sore on the inside because it takes longer to heal inside than out. The only problem I have is that I think the urologist may had cut a lot of skin at the bottom of the penis and when I have an erection half of the testicle sack comes up with it. Also if my underwear is over that skin while I have an erection it pulls on the frenulum area which I believe it still sore, it hurts. On the other hand everything is fine.
Now the hygiene part.
Week one: first 48 hours no shower as instructed by urologist. After 48 hours I grabbed feminine wash (stole it from my wife lol) and use that to very lightly scrub the head and the skin where the stitches were. Very very lightly and grabbed water from the shower and rinsed it off. That continued up until the first week.
Second week: I upped my showering times. One In the morning and one at night just because I was putting bacitracin on the incision. I forgot to mentioned that when you get out of the shower to pat dry your penis and let it air out for maybe an hour or so and if you’re putting on any ointment prescribed by your doctor put it on. They didn’t give me a time frame so I stopped at 2 weeks with the ointment. It helped a ton at night since I slept naked and sometimes it was uncomfortable sleeping on the side with the stitches touching the pubes.
Third week: (currently on) I take a shower once daily (is too cold but again hygiene is a good practice, just being lazy on my end) I can now be more rough with the washing since I have no pain but I’m keeping in mind that it’s still healing so I’m not going be so aggressive. Over all it has become a lot easier to take a shower! I’m still healing and I’ll see what happens when I see my urologist in a couple days, I’ll keep you posted. If you got more questions don’t hesitate to send me a private message.
Everyone here has different experience, we are not doctors but we’ve been through the procedure. It’s good to follow up with you doctor first week after surgery. Then 2 weeks after.
