Post Circumcision Night Erection Pains

I am on Day 7 post op today. I have been experiencing quite intense pain from night time erections for the past 3 nights every 2 hrs. It usually goes from “extreme tightness” to “ant bite pain” to “wound pains” which lingers on up to 5 mins after the erection subsides.

The pain weren’t that bad for the first 3 days while on bandage, it seemed to gotten worst this last few nights in terms of pain. However, the wound seems to be healing alright with some of the stitching beginning to fall off and there’s no pain when washing/showering.

I have some questions,

1. Is this normal to have more pains compared to the first couple post op days? Is it due to the partial falling off of stitching?

2. Is it better to wear briefs for sleep? I have tried sleeping on the sides, but the sensitive glans and stitching areas comes in contact with my thighs which causing some amount of discomfort.

3. Any tips to reduce this discomfort from night time erections? I have been very sleep deprived 😣

4. There is still swelling on the leftover inner foreskin (like a ring below the glans) and some bruises still visible but fading on the head. Is it normal for this period? When will the bruising and swelling completely subside?

You will have very considerable swelling at 7 days post op, especially in the former inner foreskin which is much thinner and more prone to irritation than normal skin.

To reduce night time problems, do keep your penis covered in some way. Bandaged or held in briefs.

Ensure that you drink nothing for at least 2 hours before bed and empty bowels and bladder before turning in.
