I got circumcised 19 days ago. I still have stitches and scabs, which I know it's to be expected at this early stage of recovery. ... My question is: Will it be a wise idea to apply coconut oil to the glans - where the infected area is - while I'm still recovering from the surgery? I've had Balanitis for almost 2 years and I hope that after having the glans exposed all the time now, I may actually be able to properly counter the infection and get my normal look back.
I hope for responses from people who have experienced, or are experiencing similar situations. Though, every reply is highly appreciated! Thank you.

A lot of the issue with balanitis is what is causing it. There is no guarantee that circumcision will get rid of it in every case. I am uncircumcised and had bad balanitis. I got rid of it by changing to a diabetes medication that did not cause my kidneys to excrete excess sugar in my urine. For some diabetics who are not diagnosed or who have poor glucose control, getting on top of diabetes can help with balanitis.
There is certainly no reason why you should not use some virgin coconut oil (unperfumed) on the glans as part of your penis care.
I also got circumcised because I had phimosis... And it's my day 20 today... And the glans of my penis is still very sensitive, and I can't wear any clothes... My doctor said that I should use coconut oil to reduce sensitivity faster... But I don't know if it will affect balanitis or not... You should ask your doctor.
