Hello,

This week I received another email.

It was about a story I wrote four years ago for Spectator Health. The title was 'My condition affects half of all men - and it is more horrible than you can imagine'.

The condition is prostatitis. It occurs when the prostate gland for no reason becomes inflamed. It's very debilitating, very frustrating and very common.

Since my Spectator story went live in January 2016, a different person from around the world has emailed almost every week. Many of the men withhold their names but all write of the comfort in finding someone who expressed what they live with yet dare not share.

Though I've had prostatitis for nine years I didn't plan to write about it regularly. But like the sudden urge to pee (a prostatitis symptom), these emails weren't subsiding.

There is no catch. No promotions. No 'make sure you hit that notifications bell guys'. Only awareness.

Is there any hope?

Hello Harrythecat. Sorry for the late reply. Yes I think so but a large part of that hope comes from accepting a sufferer won't get back to totally perfect or atleast what they were like before symptoms arrived.
