Frenulum breve + minor phimosis (or is it paraphimosis?)

Hello everyone, I’ve been reading this forum for the past month as I’m about to decide whether or not I am getting circumcised or just having frenuloplasty.

This is going to be a long post as I have accumulated a bunch of questions and my doubts are going heavy on my psychology. I’m italian so surgery will happen here.

The urologist diagnosed frenulum breve and a very light phimotic ring. I do have abundant foreskin and I can retract it easily when my penis is flaccid. I can also retract the skin under the glans when erect but it doesn’t go further and when it comes back it looks like the skin “rolls inside”. Usually when my foreskin goes over the glans it covers it entirely and can’t see anything but when the “roll inside” happens I can still see the tip of the glans and meatus. To solve this I have to grab my prepuce with the fingers and pull as if I wanted to stretch it. Does this look like paraphimosis to you?

Surgeon said that a frenuloplasty would be enough but that doesn’t exclude that I would have to be circumcised after that anyways. I’m freaking out about it as I’m pretty scared so my first thought was “let’s go for circumcision so I’ll have to endure only one post op and that would be it”. But then I’ve read about negative experiences, people with sex life ruined or poor aesthetic results. Also, I’m unsure how my sex and masturbation habits will change as the only pleasurable part that will remain is the glans and I tried to masturbate only stimulating that with no great result so now I think that I can’t find pleasure from my glans. Please no intactivists here, I just want experiences from people that actually underwent this. What’s your take on this side of the story?

As of now I’m more inclined to do frenuloplasty and then try to stretch my phimotic ring but also in this case I’ve read of people experiencing stiffness of the frenulum after the operation as it doesn’t acquire elasticity because of the stitches. Also, having the foresking able to retract by solving the frenulum breve won’t be much better if I have the aforementioned “roll inside” issue, will be?

I’ve always had pretty normal sex life apart from the fact that I’ve always had oral sex performed with my foreskin covering my glans because of pretty high sensitivity and, for the same reason, I’m always inserting and taking out my penis from the vagina making sure the foreskin is covering the glans. Oh, the “roll inside” issue happens after coitus too. When I take the penis out is in that state instead of finding my prepuce in its “normal” state (covering the entire glans with also skin in excess).

I also never experienced pain during coitus but sometimes when I go for a while I lose some kind of sensitivity, maybe because my glans doesn’t get fully exposed or it does and it’s mildly sensitive. Or maybe its because of the frenulum breve. However, I never lost an erection.

I’m sorry if this was a super long post but all these options I have in front of me are not doing me a favor when it comes to mental stability. I’m going for a second appointment with the urologist where I’m gonna try and be more explicit about all these issues I’m facing but wanted a little bit of support and hear experiences from you guys.

Thanks a lot.

J

Hi J,

I had a tight frenulum and phimosis. I underwent frenulum sparing circumcision 8 months ago.

I note each individual has a unique recovery period dependant solely on how their body reacts after either frenulum removal /lengthening or circumcision.

In my case, my experience has been such that the frenulum spared is now still swollen and appears to be affecting my erections in a way that erections are not fit for penetration.

I am currently applying steroid cream to somehow solve the problem but I'm advised that my frenulum might have to be removed in orderto solve my problem in the event the cream fails (which is likely as observed ).

I am not a urologist but from what i read aboutyour post, i would suggest you undergo a complete circumcision that removes the frenulum also.

I am bracing myself for the second round of surgery recovery pain should my frenulum eventually be operated on and excised.

I wish you the best.

Thanks for the reply. As of now my urologist advised that we just do the frenuloplasty as the lenghtening might relieve some tension on my slightly phimotic ring too. Let's hope that will be the case, otherwise I'll consider a circumcision but it's not very urgent as I never had any issues during sex.
