5 weeks down, fully healed wounds, and swelling not going down as fast as i expected. I have been masturbating almost daily since week 3 once it became painless. is this a reason for slow progress? I thought erections made recovery faster.

The swelling can take as long as a year to properly subside - although, hopefully, you will not take that long. Give it time.
