If you read many of the posts on the forum you will know that for swelling to fully go it can take any time from weeks to beyond a year. You are only at 5 weeks! Nobody can give you any guarantees when, and if, all of your swelling will go. That is one of the issues of most surgeries on whatever part of the body.

bro im just posting so people can see and reassure or lmk advice from here on out. it seems to me on every post i make you find a way to hate on it lmao. can you leave me alone?

I am sorry if the information is not what you want to hear. Nobody can give you the assurances you seek. I hope the swelling goes quickly for you but it is your body that dictates that and not the members of this forum.

You appear to have a significant amount of the former inner foreskin retined. This is not normal skin but more fragile mucous membrane which usually does swell more than the rest of the penisand takes much longer to reduce.

Everyone is different and so the average time of 6-8 weeks is only that, an average. Some men will take significantly longer - especiallyin respect of the swelling.

Have you been giving your penis a salt soak each day? That often helps to reduce the swelling quicker. Also are you keeping it pointing upwards to allow excess lymph to drain away?

I’ve been giving myself occasional warm baths without salt and occasional ice cold washes since its the summer. I will definitely consider doing warm salt soaks. I just started pointing upwards a few days ago. You think its anything serious though? i mean i am only 5 weeks in. should i stop masturbation?

It would most probably help if you didn't masturbate for a while as you may be irritating the newly exposed tender inner skin.

thanks a lot man, its a good sign stitches r dissolved and erections dont hurt right? how long did it take you to fully recover from swelling (assuming you had the procedure)

I was circumcised at 13 as a school entry requirement. I can't remember just how long it took to fully heal but I do know we all had our stitches removed by the school doctor after 2 weeks and were off gym and sport for most of the first half-term.

I went to an all boys' boarding school in Scotland. They were very hot on building a healthy mind in a healthy body, so required vaccinations and circumcision on joining.

Mine wasn't the only boys boarding school in the UK with a circumcision requirement. However, very few, if any, now have such a requirement.

Where are you in the world?

Yes, circumcision is indeed much more sanitary and, when done properly, totally eliminates or prevents phimosis, paraphimosis and frenulum breve.

No. Ranelagh Academy for Boys which closed down several years ago.

Wow! I really had no idea these sorts of things actually happened in boarding schools in the UK, you learn something new every day!
