How to keep wound 'open' after ZSR Circumcision?

I got circumcised 7 days ago with ZSR Circumcision. My doc told me to keep wound open after 7 days. I'm bit worried about doing so, because my wound is still hurting so much and no staples have came off yet. When I open my wound while changing dressings, it is very sensitive to touch and handle. If I keep open from today, it will hurt so much inside pants...

Can I wrap it very lightly with gauze? So that air can circulate and I get no irritations...

Please help me with suggestions and ideas I'm worried about keeping it open.

Yes, you can keep a light wrap of gauze around the wound if you like, but let it be open to the air as much as possible when you are around at home.

Yes definitely . You can wrap it with gauze in my opinion at least till 2 weeks or so but make sure to change it at least evey 2/3 days for hygiene purposes and to keep it dry and clean . It is however advised for the wound site to "breathe" and to aid in sensitivity . So if you can tolerate the pain you might want to listen to your doc or else no harm in keeping it under gauze. Also if you are in so much pain you might want to check in with your doc for any over the counter analgesics as they might help you out . Also if your glans is sensitive to touch , you may choose to apply a light later of non irritant non fragrant moisturiser on it to decrease the sensitivity over a few days. All the best !
