Can stitches from circumcision remain after 20 years? If not what are these things inside my skin?

I have these small black rectangular things that feel solid when you squeeze them feels like a small grain of rice inside my skin around where my stitches were done. At one spot where there is a hole you can really see it there is black object there. Well I didn't think much of it until recently i have 2 scars side by side in another spot and it almost looks like one of these little things broke in half and is sticking out of the skin. It feels like something is poking inside when i push down on it so I tried to pull something out with tweezers but nothing came out and it started bleeding.

Anyone know what that could be?

I noticed the same thing about a year after my circumcision revision. That was the remnants of dissolving sutures that didn’t totally dissolve. I sterilized a needle,

punctured the skin and pulled the hard bits out with sterilized tweezers. Cleaned my penis before and after with peroxide. No problems!

It's very rare that sutures would persist 20 years later and sounds like maybe non adsorbable sutures might have been used and "left" there .I would definitely meet with a doc to ge it ruled out if I were you and please dont try to remove them by yourself. In my opinion , sterile equipment is necessary to prevent any infections esp since you have bled a little. Take care !
