I just got circumcision, and it's my 5th day today. I just glanced through a few adult circumcision photos online, including on this site. I think my doctor kept more skin on for me during the operation (I'd rather not have a tight fit for circumcision). So what I notice is the extra? skin shields most of the stitches (right under the corona hidden by the skin), except may the underside of the penis. See attached photo(s).
So I was wondering when showering, whether I should tug/pull down the skin to reveal the stitches to wash & also in same way apply antibiotic ointment like Neosporin. Or whether I should leave it as is. I don't want to prematurely tug at the skin & stitches in case of issues. The discharge papers didn't mention anything of the sort for whether I need to expose the stitches for cleaning or applying ointment, just that you do it around the area where the stitches are.

Too bad I can only post 1 photo for posts on this site, so here's another showing the underside where the stitches are more visible. imgur.com/a/0eEkhpN
The usual advice is to follow the advice given to you by your surgeon. You cannot do that in your case unless you expose the stitches. Contact your surgeon if you hit problems.
Im in the same boat. Im on day 7 and mine looks like a similar style. I have been very gently pulling the foreskin back for cleaning and putting neosporin afterwards.
It swelled up couple days or a week later around the stitches, but not major swelling, as such, I don't really have to pull the skin back anymore, they're mostly exposed now. And most of the stitches have come off now I think, just half left, after 2 weeks. Doctor said to continue using the neosporin though for like another 2 weeks to a month.
Hi, I am day 6 post circumcision and my skin too is loose and covers the stitches it actually covers a bit of the corona. Is this due to swelling? How did your skin recover?
The frenulum is extremely sensetive and burns on and off even after 1 week. The stitches are also uncomfortable. I need to wrap the head with gauze or else it's too sensetive.
I heard you have to train your dragon LOL. Touching and rubbing the head until you feel nothing. But we should focus of healing first. Remember the longer you take “protecting” your heard the slower we’re going to get used to the sensitivity.
My shaft was swollen a lot for 2-3 days but more towards the tip like an upside down bell. Right now there is puffiness around the stiches and where the skin that was attached. If you wrap it just go around and leave the tip open to get air.
Your frenulum is neat and tidy, mine looks like a shark attack, I've swelled a lot around that area, I'm 12 days post op. The swelling has really bulged, like an extra lip.
