Erection after circumcision

This happened 4 days after my circ. Last night I was waken up by an erection, but it didn't hurt, when the erection subsided my flaccid penis started to hurt more than the erection did, and even until now (4 hours after) the pain is still there, is that normal??

Painful nocturnal erections can be expected during the first few weeks after a circumcision.

To reduce the risk of such erections you need to take some precautions:

Don't drink anything for at least 2 hours before bedtime.

Empty your bladder (and preferably also your bowels) just before bed.

Maintain the penis in the 'bellywards' position with close fitting underwear as for the daytime.

Sleep on your side with knees pulled up in the foetal position to put less strain on your groin.

If woken in the night, immediately get up and empty your bladder again.
