Glans haven't keritonised after circumcision

Hi guys,

So Im 11 months post cut and my glans haven't peeled or keritonised. I suffered from sever phimosis for years and my glans were never exposed, down to lack of knowledge when I was younger to pull the foreskin back, never had a dad around to tell me these things.

I was just wondering if this was normal, I see lots of posts about people glans peeling sometimes a matter of weeks after circumcision. I've been using coconut oil since month 5 but before that I didn't use any moisturiser. Should I expect this to happen in the future? I'm very happy my glans have retained its sensitivity so I'm not complaining but I don't want it to happen I'm the future if possible. Tia!

No, I don't think it won't peel at all. My glans has never peeled either.

Thanks for the reply mate. How long are you cut now? And have you kept sensitivity if it hasn't peeled? Thank you

6 months now. I kept my foreskin retracted more than 15 years before y cut. There is no difference on glans sensation now and before op.

You may or may not peel off and since you haven't that's great for you ! Some activities might cause peeling off and is quite normal in some cases . Even if it does, applying little oil will help you out immensely and isn't something to worry much about ! Its not mandatory to apply the oil every day . Don't worry ! Also you are lucky since it hasn't keratinised for you ! Cheers !

Is there a way to make your glans keratinise at all??

I think keratinization is not the same as skin peeling off on glans. When the glans is exposed skin will harden a bit always. Sensation on glans skin will fade, but that not mean that you won't feel sensual pleasure on there, IMO.

This is correct. My glans never peeled. I was circumcised November 2019 & rather quickly (within 4 weeks or so) the new sensations of everything stimulating my newly exposed glans went away. That’s not to say I couldn’t feel sensual touch and pleasure- in fact I don’t think any sensitivity there decreased at all. I think mentally my body learned to ignore the signal inputs of every little swing and brush up in my underwear while going about my day. When I am aroused (thoughts of sex, viewing Sexual images, kissing my partner, being touched or touching my self down there) I feel everything. The body is very interesting and adaptable.
